Things to Celebrate!
With the massive influx of wrongheaded bills that have been proposed for our state congress' consideration, we must relish the times those bills that die in committee. They waste as little time as we can expect and their death allows us to focus on the rest of the science denying bills. Getting to specifics, SB 758 now lies fallow for now having not been approved by committee before the deadline. This was one of two bills that were closely related (HB 1674 Scientific Education and Religious Freedom Act) with SB 758 being the more vaguely worded of the two. Personally I'm thankful that the more specific bill passed because that is the one that has been passed around many states and has plainly outlined, unconstitutional aims. Yay for congressional mire!

My hope is that if HB1674 passes out of the House, it languishes in Senate committee. It is clear that the leadership in the Senate isn't pushing to have this thing pass.
