Oklahoma Committees

So the Oklahoma City Chapter of Americans United for Separation of Church and State told all of us what bills were disturbing them but what do we do now?

Here is a list of the bills that I wrote about in great detail in my earlier post:

HB 1029 - Personhood Act (referred to Public Health Committee)
HB 1025 - Protecting Human Life Act (referred to Public Health Committee)
SJR 31 - "Hobby Lobby" Resolution (referred to Business and Commerce Committee)
HB 1456 - Religious Viewpoints Anti-Discrimination Act (referred to Rules Committee)
SB 175 - Modifying the definition of rape (has been recommended to floor by committee)
HB 1674 - Scientific Education and Academic Freedom Act (referred to Common Education Committee)
SB 758 - Oklahoma Science Education Act (referred to Education Committee)

We need to contact our personal representatives (click here to find yours) and tell them our personal opinions about these bills. Ask them to please vote against these bills if they make it to the floor. Emails will work fine but mailing letters written on colored paper makes the biggest impact on our politicians (obviously, they get a lot of emails). Definitely ask your senator to vote against SB 175 now that it has passed the committee stage but all of the other introduced bills are still in the committee stage so I will list the committees  where these bills are and their members below. You can click on any of the committees and you will find these names as well as their contact information.

Have fun storming the castle!

  1. Chas, here is some info you need to be passing onto the AU folks. It will affect who exactly they need to be lobbying.
